Botox for TMJ Treatment
Botox is used as an alternative treatment for TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) disorders and associated jaw tension and pain. When injected into the muscles afflicted with soreness and discomfort, Botox relieves TMJ and jaw tension for many patients. The treatment often eliminates headaches resulting from teeth grinding, and, in cases of severe stress, even minimize lock jaw. Although Botox treatment for these conditions is presently experimental, evidence indicates that it can be extremely effective.
Botox Treatment for Excessive Sweating
The body regulates its internal temperature by sweating. For some people, however, the body produces much more perspiration than it needs to stay cool. This condition is known as hyperhidrosis. Treatment for this condition is effectively implemented with botox injections, which can reduce excessive sweating problems. The exact cause of hyperhidrosis is unknown, but Botox provides a safe solution to an uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing problem. Common sites of treatment are feet, palms, and underarms.
Botox Treatment for Headaches and Migraines
Physicians discovered the link between Botox Cosmetic and headaches in1992, when patients reported experiencing fewer headaches following injections intended to reduce facial lines and wrinkles. The finding was confirmed by several clinical trials that followed. Botox does provide relief to headache sufferers. Furthermore, it was found that Botox treatments can reduce migraine headache pain.
