Have you ever wondered what magic potions those clinical-looking women in black coats are slathering onto your face?  What exactly are those chemicals that melt away the brown spots and wrinkles?  How do some chemicals treat aging and others treat acne?  What the heck IS microdermabrasion anyway???

Welcome eden girls to our new blog spot.  I had no problem deciding the topic of eden’s first blog thanks to my 13 year old son.  We were driving to football practice last week when he asks, “Mom, have you been using your Obagi this summer?”   My response was something like, “Well, sort of, sometimes, not really, why?”  He then informs me that he can tell because he can see brown spots, freckles and big spots.  I then defensively began pointing the blame toward HIS summer filled with baseball, camps, and wakeboarding which forced me into the evil sun.  So he says, “I’m just sayin’…” 

After a thorough examination in the magnifying mirror, I concluded that he is 100% correct.  Ladies of summer, I invite you to join me in a strategic plan to undo the damage we have done this summer! I’m assuming I am not alone in the “summer skin care slide”.  So, here are the steps I have taken…

First, I discovered that I have a drawer full of mostly used product with questionable dates of origin.  So the bottles with remnants have now been discarded and new product is now in the vanity.  Am I the only one who gets some bizarre thrill from opening new product?  The un-opened bottles seem to glow, levitate, and almost cry out to me a lovely song of hope each time I open the drawer!  I think the spots are already sensing my new enthusiasm.

Step two involves the aestheticians table.  After a brief conversation with the girls at work, my suspicions are confirmed.  I need a 3-prong approach to making the canvas (my face) more accepting of product.  I am now on the books for dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, and a glycolic peel.  I’m so excited!  I feel like a client.  Three simple steps to glowing skin!  Look out brown spots, sagging skin, and wrinkles!  I’m back with the zeal of a girl turning 40 this month.  Anybody with me here?
